What it is and how it works
The kit includes one 0.96-inch OLED display. Its pixels emit their own light. A program sends information to the display controller, which turns it into text or simple graphics. This gives a device readable output without keeping a computer open.
On a small screen, clear labels, units and readable text matter more than showing every value at once. A temperature without °C or a number without a label is difficult to interpret. Alternating between a few simple screens can make a project easier to use.
What we can use it for
- Show temperature and relative humidity from the DHT11.
- Display a button-press counter or a timer countdown.
- Draw a bar following the potentiometer position or light level.
First exercise
After identifying the module, display a project title and a changing test number. Give the value a short label and check readability from several viewing angles. The next step is replacing the test number with a real sensor reading.
Handling notes
The picture does not establish the controller, resolution, address or interface. Do not assume SSD1306, an I²C address or a VCC/GND pin order from the screen size. Select a library after checking its markings and documentation. Verify supply voltage and signal levels for ESP32. Avoid leaving an unchanged image at high brightness unnecessarily.
